The whole world was shook by the October 7, 2023 attack in Israel. As many know, the community in the Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia area has a large Jewish population. Supporting the local community is extremely important to Deaton Painting. Our company is locally owned, founded, and operated so we know a thing or two about the DMV community and always want to give back as much as we can.

After the attack, the owners of Deaton Painting got together and discussed how we could possibly support the local Jewish community in this time of tragedy. While donating money is a nice gesture, we believe that getting our hands dirty to help people face-to-face is more meaningful. We came up with the idea of doing free painting work for Synagogues in need. We reached out to a handful of Synagogues in the area and stumbled upon Chabad Lubavitch of Upper Montgomery County.

Chabad Lubavitch, based in Gaithersburg, Maryland, is a wonderful Synagogue offering religious services, community support, and educational services. Their leadership was thrilled at our offer and had a room in dire need of repainting.

Deaton Painting quickly assembled a team to take on the Synagogue project. The crew was lead by owner and founder, Eric.

The project took two days. Afterwards the Synagogue leadership was thrilled. They even baked us cookies! Deaton Painting is proud to support the local Washington DC, Maryland and Virginia Jewish communities. While painting a room is only a small gesture, we hope it shows our Jewish friends that we stand with them in their time of need. We encourage everyone to support their local Synagogues and donate to charities that help families affected by the tragedy in Israel such as the Israel Emergency Relief Fund.
